Role Summary:
As a Surgical Technologist at our client’s healthcare facility, you will play a crucial role in assisting surgeons and other healthcare professionals during surgical procedures. You will prepare operating rooms, sterilize equipment, and ensure a safe and efficient environment for surgical interventions.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures, ensuring all equipment and instruments are sterilized and available for use.
- Assist surgical team members, including surgeons, nurses, and anesthesiologists, during surgical procedures by passing instruments, sutures, and other supplies.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and provide support as necessary to maintain a smooth flow of the operation.
- Maintain a sterile field throughout surgical procedures and adhere to aseptic techniques to prevent surgical site infections.
- Prepare and position patients for surgery, ensuring proper positioning and draping to optimize surgical exposure.
- Monitor and document surgical counts of instruments, sponges, and needles to ensure patient safety and prevent retained surgical items.
- Assist with the transportation and care of surgical specimens for laboratory analysis.
- Clean and restock operating rooms after surgical procedures, ensuring compliance with infection control and safety protocols.
Requirements:
- Diploma or certificate in Surgical Technology or related field.
- Valid certification or licensure as a Surgical Technologist.
- Proven experience working as a Surgical Technologist, preferably in a hospital setting.
- Knowledge of surgical procedures, instruments, and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
