Our client is a prominent real estate development company based in Lagos, Nigeria, specializing in luxury residential and commercial properties. With a focus on innovative design and sustainable building practices, the company has been enhancing cityscapes across Nigeria since 2007.
Role Summary:
As a Real Estate Developer at our client’s company, you will be responsible for leading and managing real estate development projects from inception to completion. You will play a key role in identifying and acquiring development opportunities, overseeing the design and construction process, and managing project budgets and timelines to deliver high-quality properties that meet market demand and enhance the company’s reputation.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and evaluate real estate development opportunities, including land acquisition, feasibility analysis, and market research, to assess potential risks and returns and inform investment decisions.
- Develop and implement project strategies and plans, including project scope, budget, and timeline, and manage all aspects of the development process from concept design through construction and occupancy.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to oversee the design and construction process, ensure compliance with building codes and regulations, and deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget.
- Manage project budgets, contracts, and expenditures, and monitor project financial performance, cash flow, and profitability, and implement cost-saving measures and value engineering to optimize project outcomes.
- Coordinate with sales and marketing teams to develop marketing strategies and sales plans, and support the sales process by providing market insights, pricing recommendations, and product positioning strategies to maximize property sales and revenue.
- Oversee property management activities, including leasing, tenant relations, maintenance, and asset management, to ensure properties are well-maintained and operated efficiently to maximize long-term value and returns.
- Monitor market trends, economic indicators, and competitive dynamics, and conduct regular market analysis and feasibility studies to identify new opportunities and inform strategic decisions and planning.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, environmental standards, and health and safety regulations, and maintain appropriate permits and approvals throughout the development process.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., MRICS, PMP) is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in real estate development, with a proven track record of successfully managing and delivering development projects, preferably in luxury residential and commercial properties.
- Strong understanding of real estate development principles, practices, and processes, including land acquisition, entitlements, design and construction, financing, and sales and marketing.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex real estate deals, financial models, and market data, and make informed decisions and recommendations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate teams, resolve conflicts, and drive results and accountability.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, project management software, and real estate development tools and software.
