As a Drilling Engineer, you will be responsible for planning and overseeing drilling operations to extract oil and gas from underground reservoirs. You will work closely with geologists, drilling supervisors, and operations managers to optimize drilling performance and ensure the safe and efficient extraction of hydrocarbons.
- Develop and implement operational strategies and plans to achieve production targets, minimize downtime, and optimize resource utilization.
- Lead and manage cross-functional teams, including drilling engineers, production supervisors, logistics coordinators, and maintenance technicians, to ensure seamless coordination and execution of operational activities.
- Monitor and evaluate operational performance metrics, including production rates, equipment reliability, and safety incidents, and implement corrective actions as needed to address performance gaps.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and best practices, and promote a culture of safety and accountability among all staff.
- Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and efficiency enhancements through the use of technology, automation, and best practices.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, contractors, suppliers, and local communities.
- Prepare and present regular reports on operational performance, including key metrics, trends, and analysis, to senior management and other stakeholders.
- Stay informed about industry trends, developments, and emerging technologies in oil and gas operations, and assess their potential impact on the company’s operations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in oil and gas operations management or a similar role, with a track record of success in leading and managing operational teams.
- Strong knowledge of oil and gas operations, including drilling, production, logistics, and maintenance, as well as relevant regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve common goals and drive continuous improvement.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex operational issues and develop practical solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations and best practices in the oil and gas industry.
