Job Description:
Our client is seeking for a highly skilled and motivated Pharmacist to join their team in VI, Lagos. As a pharmacist, you will be responsible for dispensing medications, providing drug information to patients and healthcare professionals, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and maintaining accurate medication records. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in promoting health and wellness within the community.
Responsibilities:
- Dispense medications accurately and efficiently by prescriptions issued by authorized healthcare providers.
- Provide counseling to patients regarding the appropriate use and possible side effects of medications.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care and medication therapy management.
- Monitor drug therapy regimens for potential drug interactions, contraindications, and adverse reactions.
- Maintain proper inventory levels of medications and pharmaceutical supplies, and oversee the storage and handling of medications to ensure their integrity and safety.
- Comply with all local, state, and federal regulations governing the practice of pharmacy, including maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay informed about new developments in pharmacology and healthcare practices.
- Assist in the development and implementation of pharmacy policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and patient care.
- Provide guidance and support to pharmacy technicians and other staff members to ensure smooth workflow and adherence to quality standards.
- Engage in community outreach initiatives to promote health education and awareness, including conducting health screenings and wellness programs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from an accredited institution.
- Proven experience working as a pharmacist in a healthcare setting, preferably in a retail or hospital pharmacy.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical drugs, their uses, dosages, and interactions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with patients, healthcare professionals, and colleagues.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in dispensing medications and maintaining records.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
- Familiarity with pharmacy computer systems and software for prescription processing and inventory management.
- Dedication to providing high-quality patient care and promoting positive health outcomes.
