Role Summary:
As a Loan Officer, you will play a vital role in facilitating access to financial services for small businesses and entrepreneurs. You will be responsible for assessing loan applications, managing client relationships, and ensuring compliance with lending policies and regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate loan applications and assess the creditworthiness of borrowers.
- Conduct financial analysis and risk assessments to determine loan eligibility and appropriate loan terms.
- Meet with clients to discuss their financial needs, explain loan options, and gather required documentation.
- Prepare and present loan proposals to management for approval.
- Monitor loan portfolios and ensure timely repayment of loans.
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to clients throughout the loan process.
- Maintain accurate records of loan transactions and client interactions.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with lending policies and regulatory requirements.
- Identify opportunities to cross-sell other financial products and services to clients.
- Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes affecting microfinance operations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- Proven experience in banking, microfinance, or lending operations.
- Strong understanding of financial principles, credit analysis, and risk management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and loan management software.
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and best practices in microfinance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
