Role Summary:
As an Inventory Manager at our client’s retail chain, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the inventory levels and processes to ensure efficient operations and minimize stock losses. You will play a key role in optimizing inventory management practices, implementing best-in-class processes, and maximizing inventory accuracy.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement inventory management policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure accurate inventory tracking and control.
- Oversee and manage inventory levels, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and replenishment, to maintain optimal stock levels and minimize stockouts and excess inventory.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy and identify discrepancies or variances.
- Analyze inventory data and trends to forecast demand, identify slow-moving or obsolete items, and optimize inventory levels and turnover.
- Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and logistics partners to ensure timely and accurate delivery of inventory and resolve any issues or discrepancies.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with inventory management policies, procedures, and standards, including proper handling, storage, and disposal of inventory.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, purchasing, and operations, to align inventory management practices with business objectives and optimize inventory performance.
- Implement inventory management systems and technology solutions to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance visibility and control over inventory.
- Train and develop inventory management staff to ensure competency in inventory management practices and procedures.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in inventory management, preferably in the retail or consumer goods industry.
- Strong understanding of inventory management principles, processes, and best practices, including inventory control, cycle counting, and demand forecasting.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and systems, with experience implementing and managing inventory management solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
