Role Summary:
The company is looking for a competent and experienced candidate for this role. As the first point of the patients, Front Desk Officer plays a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of the hospital’s front desk area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors warmly as they arrive at the hospital, providing assistance and directing them to the appropriate department or staff member.
- Answer phone calls and inquiries promptly and professionally, providing accurate information and addressing concerns or directing calls to the appropriate personnel.
- Schedule appointments for patients, ensuring efficient use of appointment slots and maintaining an organized schedule for medical staff.
- Register new patients and update existing patient information in the hospital database, ensuring accuracy and completeness of records.
- Verify patient insurance coverage and process insurance claims as necessary, adhering to hospital billing and coding guidelines.
- Collect co-payments and payments for services rendered, providing receipts and maintaining accurate records of financial transactions.
- Coordinate with medical staff and other departments to ensure seamless patient care and efficient flow of operations at the front desk.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and photocopying documents, as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization at the front desk area, including keeping the waiting area tidy and well-stocked with informational materials.
- Adhere to hospital policies and procedures regarding patient confidentiality, safety, and infection control.
- Provide support and assistance to other hospital staff members as needed, contributing to a positive and collaborative work environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience.
- Proven experience as a Front Desk Officer or similar role in a healthcare setting, preferably with 2-3 years of experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities effectively.
- Proficiency in computer applications such as MS Office and electronic medical record systems.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations, with a customer-focused approach to problem-solving.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate the needs of the hospital and its patients.
