Role Summary:
As a Financial Analyst at our client’s retail chain, you will be responsible for analyzing financial data, preparing financial reports and forecasts, and providing insights and recommendations to support decision-making and drive business performance. You will play a key role in monitoring financial performance, identifying trends and opportunities, and supporting strategic planning and financial management.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze financial data and trends, including revenue, expenses, profitability, and cash flow, and prepare financial reports, forecasts, and projections to support decision-making and strategic planning.
- Monitor and evaluate financial performance against budget, forecasts, and targets, and provide variance analysis and explanations to management to identify areas for improvement and optimize financial performance.
- Prepare financial models and scenarios to support strategic initiatives, investment decisions, and business planning, and conduct sensitivity analysis and risk assessment to evaluate potential impacts and outcomes.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes, including preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial plans, and collaborating with stakeholders to develop and implement financial strategies and objectives.
- Conduct financial analysis and due diligence for potential investments, acquisitions, and business opportunities, and provide recommendations and insights to support decision-making and risk management.
- Evaluate financial processes, systems, and controls, and identify opportunities for improvement and efficiency gains, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement changes and enhancements.
- Stay informed about industry trends, economic developments, and regulatory changes, and assess their potential impact on the company’s financial performance and operations, and provide insights and recommendations to management.
- Support ad-hoc financial analysis, projects, and initiatives as needed to support business objectives and priorities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA) is a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial analysis, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), or related field, preferably in the retail or consumer goods industry.
- Strong understanding of financial principles, concepts, and practices, including financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Proficiency in financial analysis tools and software, such as Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and financial modeling software.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex financial data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate financial information and insights effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
