Overview:
Our client, a multi-specialist hospital is currently seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family Physician to join their healthcare team in Lagos. The ideal candidate will have 4-5 years of experience in providing comprehensive medical care to patients of all ages within a family practice setting. Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
• Provide primary care services to patients of all ages, including diagnosis, treatment, and preventive care.
• Conduct thorough medical evaluations, including history taking, physical examinations, and appropriate diagnostic tests.
• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans based on patient needs and medical best practices.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
• Provide patient education on health maintenance, disease prevention, and treatment options.
Chronic Disease Management:
• Manage chronic medical conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma, and others.
• Conduct regular follow-up appointments to monitor disease progression and optimize treatment outcomes.
• Collaborate with specialists as needed for complex cases.
Acute Care:
• Diagnose and treat acute illnesses and injuries, including minor surgical procedures when appropriate.
• Provide urgent care services for acute medical concerns during office hours.
Health Promotion and Disease Prevention:
• Promote healthy lifestyle choices and preventive health measures within the community.
• Conduct screenings and assessments for common health risks.
• Administer vaccinations and immunizations according to established guidelines.
Medical Record Keeping:
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records for all patients.
• Document patient encounters, treatment plans, and follow-up care in compliance with regulatory standards.
Collaboration and Communication:
• Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, physician assistants, and specialists, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers to address questions, concerns, and treatment plans.
Qualifications:
• Medical degree from an accredited institution.
• Valid license to practice medicine in Nigeria.
• Board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine.
• 4-5 years of experience in a family practice setting.
• Proficiency in electronic medical record systems.
• Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
