Role Overview:
Our client is looking for a facility officer who will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance, safety, and functionality of our facilities to support the delivery of exceptional patient care. You will play a vital role in maintaining a safe, comfortable, and hygienic environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
• Facility Maintenance: Supervise and coordinate all aspects of facility maintenance, including repairs, renovations, and preventive maintenance tasks to ensure optimal functioning of hospital facilities and equipment.
• Safety and Compliance: Implement and enforce safety standards and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and promote a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
• Equipment Management: Manage the maintenance and servicing of medical equipment and machinery, ensuring they are operational, calibrated, and safe for use according to manufacturer guidelines and regulatory standards.
• Space Planning and Utilization: Monitor and optimize the use of hospital space to accommodate the changing needs of patients and staff while ensuring efficient utilization of resources.
• Emergency Preparedness: Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures, conduct regular drills, and ensure staff readiness to respond effectively to emergencies, including medical emergencies and natural disasters.
• Vendor and Contractor Management: Coordinate with external vendors, contractors, and service providers for facility-related services, including maintenance, repairs, and construction projects, ensuring quality of work and adherence to budget and timelines.
• Budget Oversight: Assist in the development of annual facility budgets, monitor expenditures, and identify opportunities for cost-saving measures while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of facility maintenance activities, equipment inventory, safety inspections, and regulatory compliance documentation. Prepare regular reports for management review.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Facility Management, Engineering, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in facility management, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare facility operations, regulatory requirements, and best practices in facility management.
• Familiarity with medical equipment maintenance and safety standards is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite and facility management software.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Certification in facility management, healthcare facility management, or related field would be an advantage.
