Job Objective/Purpose:
The Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon will provide expert care for all orthopaedic cases, ensuring the standardization and streamlining of orthopaedic care practices across the department.
Reporting Relationships:
Functionally Reports To: Chief of Surgery
Administratively Reports To: Chief of Surgery
Supervises: Medical officers and nurses
Working Relationships:
Internal: Other consultants, medical officers, directors, and nursing staff
External: Clients, patients, and their relatives
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide care and management for orthopaedic patients, both in outpatient and inpatient settings.
- Develop and adhere to clinical practice guidelines.
- Conduct ward rounds and specialist outpatient clinics.
- Provide case reporting and documentation.
- Perform other duties as required by the department.
Education and Qualifications:
- Education: MBBS or its equivalent
- Professional Training: Residency in Surgery from a recognized institution
- Licensing: Valid medical practice license
- Professional Qualification: Fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College in Surgery or equivalent
Experience:
A minimum of 1 year post-residency experience is desirable.

Work Cycle (Hours/Days):
- Monday to Friday: 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM
- Saturdays: As per department’s duty schedule
- Call duty and weekend coverage as per the department’s rotation.
