Role Summary:
As an Architect at our client’s firm, you will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and overseeing the construction of architectural projects. You will work closely with clients, engineers, and contractors to bring projects from concept to completion, ensuring that they meet aesthetic, functional, and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with clients to understand their needs, goals, and budget constraints, and develop design concepts and proposals that meet their requirements and expectations.
- Prepare architectural drawings, plans, and specifications using computer-aided design (CAD) software, and create 3D models and renderings to visualize design concepts and communicate ideas to clients and stakeholders.
- Coordinate with engineers, consultants, and contractors to integrate structural, mechanical, electrical, and other systems into architectural designs, and ensure that projects comply with building codes, zoning regulations, and other legal requirements.
- Manage all phases of the design process, from initial concept development and schematic design to design development, construction documentation, and construction administration, and oversee the work of junior staff and interns as needed.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to assess existing conditions, review construction progress, and ensure that projects are being built according to design specifications and quality standards, and address any issues or challenges that arise during construction.
- Participate in client meetings, presentations, and project reviews, and provide expert advice and guidance on design options, materials selection, and sustainability strategies to support informed decision-making and achieve project goals.
- Stay abreast of trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in architecture and design, and incorporate innovative ideas and approaches into design solutions to enhance the firm’s competitive edge and reputation.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field; professional licensure (e.g., ARCON) is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in architectural design and project management, preferably in a reputable architecture firm.
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, or SketchUp, and familiarity with rendering and visualization tools.
- Strong design sensibility and creativity, with the ability to translate conceptual ideas into functional and aesthetically pleasing architectural designs.
- Excellent technical skills and knowledge of building systems, construction methods, and materials, and ability to produce accurate and detailed construction documents and specifications.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, consultants, and contractors, and communicate ideas and concepts clearly and persuasively.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of sustainable design principles, green building practices, and LEED certification is a plus.
