Position Summary:

We are looking for a dynamic and results-driven National Sales Manager to lead and manage our national sales efforts. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in FMCG sales, exceptional leadership abilities, and proven experience in executing national sales strategies across diverse regions. As the National Sales Manager, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth, leading a large sales team, and ensuring the achievement of national sales targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement national sales strategies aligned with company objectives to achieve overall sales goals.
  • Team Leadership: Manage, motivate, and guide a large, geographically dispersed sales team, ensuring they meet or exceed performance targets.
  • Market Analysis: Continuously analyze market trends, customer behavior, and competitor activity to identify opportunities for growth and refine sales strategies.
  • Sales Forecasting: Accurately predict sales performance at the national level and adjust strategies to meet targets.
  • Budget Management: Oversee and allocate sales budgets, ensuring effective resource management and optimization of sales activities.
  • Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients, distributors, and stakeholders across multiple regions.
  • Communication Skills: Communicate effectively with team members, senior management, and clients to ensure alignment of sales initiatives.
  • Performance Management: Set clear sales targets, monitor performance, and provide coaching and feedback to drive individual and team success.
  • Analytical Skills: Analyze sales data, trends, and KPIs to identify areas for improvement and develop actionable insights.
  • Problem-Solving: Address challenges and implement solutions to overcome obstacles in the sales process and achieve goals.

Typical Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive national sales plans that align with the company’s vision and objectives.
  • Lead the hiring, training, and development of sales representatives to build a high-performing team.
  • Set clear sales goals and quotas for the national sales team, ensuring they are realistic, measurable, and achievable.
  • Monitor team performance, identify areas for improvement, and provide constructive feedback and support.
  • Collaborate closely with the marketing team to ensure the effective development of sales enablement materials and campaigns.
  • Manage the sales pipeline, forecast sales activity, and ensure timely execution of initiatives.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to expand brand presence and build relationships.

 Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A Master’s degree or MBA is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in sales, with at least 5 years in a managerial role within the FMCG industry.
  • Proven track record of consistently achieving sales targets and leading high-performing teams.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate large teams across multiple regions.
  • In-depth knowledge of the FMCG market and its trends, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to use sales data to drive business decisions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and CRM tools.
